In short
Lion TV is a player. Your playlist (server, username, password) is stored only on your TV. We never see it, sell data or show ads, and the app has no tracking or analytics.
What our licence server keeps
- A code that identifies your TV, made from the device ID with a one-way hash, so the real ID never leaves the TV.
- Your TV model name (for example "Xiaomi TV"), so you can recognise your devices.
- Which activation code your TV uses, and when your free trial started and ends.
- Your network address for up to one hour, only to block repeated wrong activation codes.
Phone set-up
When you set up from your phone, your playlist details are encrypted on the phone with a key that only your TV holds. Our server passes the encrypted data to the TV without being able to read it and deletes it as soon as the TV receives it, or after 10 minutes at most.
Purchases
Payments are handled by our payment provider (Payhip) and its payment partners. We receive your email address and order details to send your activation code and to help you. We never see your card details.
Services the app connects to
The app connects directly to your own IPTV provider. It can also load sports results, artwork and update files from public services. These services receive normal connection data such as your network address.
Your choices
You can deactivate a TV at any time in Settings › Licence. To have your licence data deleted, or for any privacy question, email us. We answer within 30 days.
